Mets Get First Win Of the '08 Season

The New Mexico Mets notched the first win of the season topping the MSBL Rangers 8-1 in a wood bat interleague game. Justin Munoz got the win with strong pitching performances by Barry Keiss and Bret Helenius. Darrick Schultz led the hitting bregade going 3-4 on the day.

New Mexico Met Germaine Casey, who passed away in August, 2007 while on a presidentail detail, was inducted into the MSBL National Hall of Fame during the 2008 World Series in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mets come up short in title defense against MABL A's

The New Mexico Mets came up short in their repeat bid agains the Athletics of the MABL. The Final score was 11-10 and had an exciting finish as Darrick Schultz hit a homerun to right field in the bottom of the 10th inning. That was where the Mets rally fell short, as the A's recorded the final out to be crowned the new champs.
