2006 Championship Rematch, Round One Goes to Mets

Santa Fe, NM - After a layoff from Easter, the Mets were back in action against their rival Albuquerque Brewers. The Brewers coming off a win over the Bears (formerly of the MSBL) were hoping to keep the momentum going, but were denied by the Mets, who improved to 2-0 on the season. Rod Tafoya earned his second win on the season going 2-0, while Justin Munoz closed out the games final 2 innings not allowing a hit and struck out three.
The Mets broke out of the gate scoring three runs in the first inning with a Home Run by Richard Cordova and doubles by Scott Ferran and Germaine Casey.
The Mets struck again in the fourth scoring four runs off a home run by Ferran and hits by Cordova and Walter Perea.
The Mets scored again in fourth, fifth and sixth innings to put the game out of reach and force the 10-run rule.
Germaine Casey went 3-4 with two doubles and Richard Cordova went 3-4 with a homer, and two singles.
